What would it take to change the number of congregated programs?

Some programs changed to employment and full community integration 30 years ago.  Why did not more programs follow suit.  Given the new policies what are the lessons learned from our history and what will it take to build a pathway for providers, families and people supported to make the transition now? • Understand the lessons learned and how to apply them to their own situation. • Clearly identify key stakeholders and the appropriate questions that need to be dealt with in order for change in programming to move to employment and full integration. • Be able to identify concerns, fears and barriers that must be addressed for employment first to become a reality. • Identify the tools that are now available to support change. • Be able to identify a reasonable time line for change and the benchmarks along the journey.
