This session will include a screening of the film “Rethinking College” followed by a discussion of how the film can be used as both an instructional and advocacy tool with a variety of audiences to increase knowledge of postsecondary education opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities. 1. Participants will be made aware of the film “Rethinking College” and how to obtain a copy for instructional and advocacy use. 2. Participants will learn about college opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities from the perspectives of students, faculty, parents and administrators by watching a 30 minute film. 3. Participants will learn about and be provided with supporting resources for the film that they can use to help inform, educate and advocate for college opportunities. 4. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with the presenters and each other related to their thoughts on the film and the importance of inclusive postsecondary education.
