TASH Values in Action in the Courts: Attorneys and Experts Working Together
United States Department of Justice and other leading civil rights attorneys have recently brought many important cases that interpret the Integration Mandate of the Americans with Disabilities Act and reflect best practices in the developmental disabilities field. In these cases, civil rights/disability rights attorneys and experts often work together in shaping the cases and the proposed remedies. Currently and historically, TASH members have sometimes occupied key roles such as experts, court monitors, special masters. Presenters will talk about some of the recent landmark cases, as well as the collaborative roles and relationships – experts, masters, monitors- and how people fill these roles.
