The Autism Campus Inclusion (ACI) Summer Leadership Academy, a project of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network (ASAN), prepares Autistic students to create meaningful systems change on their college campuses and beyond. Participants build leadership, community organizing, and policy advocacy skills; alumni are supported in implementing their advocacy goals. Come meet the next generation of disability rights leaders and see what our future has in store!
-Understand the importance of leadership and advocacy training for college students, youth, and young adults with disabilities.
-Discuss current advocacy issues facing college students with disabilities -Appreciate the unique important of focused leadership development for college students, youth, and young adults from marginalized and multiply-marginalized communities
-Advocate for campus inclusion of students with disabilities, including the creation of student groups, coalitions, and cultural spaces.
