Integrating Technology on a College Campus

Students with intellectual disabilities have the opportunity to attend college, but may need support to be successful. Technology can make a difference. Participants will leave with ideas for different types of technology, an outline of questions to ask students, and ways to get students involved in addressing their technology needs. As a result of this presentation, participants will have knowledge about post secondary options for students with complex disabilities. As a result of this presentation, participants will understand the impact of a college experience has had on some students with complex disabilities. As a result of this presentation, participants will know how to support students with complex disabilities determine what assistive technology works best for them. As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to support college students with complex disabilities advocate for their needs in college classrooms and internship sites. As a result of this presentation, participants will be able to identify low and high tech assistive technology that might be useful of college students with complex disabilities.
