Inclusion U provides web-based university certification as an Inclusivity Assessor for recreation facilities, plus access to a comprehensive database of inclusive recreation opportunities. This presenter requires Inclusion U training as part of an undergraduate class in Assistive Technology, for students majoring in Inclusive Special Education. This presentation presents an overview of Inclusion U, and an evaluation of the curriculum experience. Describe the characteristics of an inclusive recreation environment: physical and social. Consider the value of, and incorporate web-based, university certification in recreation and leisure inclusivity assessment as a topic of instruction in a pre-service teacher education class in assistive technology or another area of inclusive special education. Access and enroll in web-based, university certification as an Inclusive Recreation Assessor. Upon successful completion of Inclusion U, gain access to a comprehensive database of inclusive recreation and leisure opportunities. As a certified Inclusion U assessor, evaluate the recreational and leisure opportunities in one’s own community and state, and contribute to the expansion of the Inclusion U database, to help people with disabilities plan and enjoy their recreational and leisure participation in their own communities.
