Improving classroom supports for students with severe disabilities: A look at technology.

This poster presentation will present options for instructional support for students with severe and multiple disabilities through using technology. Technology presented will include tablet, video, computer based and smart board type options. The technology uses are for the purposes of communication, behavior management and classroom supports.  Participants will identify technology resources that are appropriate for elementary students with severe disabilities in the areas of communication, behavior and access to curriculum.   Participants will identify strategies for implementing technology resources for elementary students with severe disabilities in the areas of communication, behavior and access to curriculum.   Participants will identify planning options for effective use of technology for elementary students with severe disabilities n the areas of communication, behavior and access to curriculum.   Participants will learn planning strategies to better implement technology in their own classrooms or therapy situations. Collaboration with strategies across environments will also be stressed for optimal outcomes.
