The Family Experiences with Autism Spectrum Disorders (FEASD) Scale was developed and validated by 466 families in a national research study. Principal components analysis was conducted on the (FEASD) Scale, which indicated 3 factors with alpha levels ranging from .70-.96 were present: “Family Support,” “School Quality,” and “Health Care Quality.” MANOVAs were conducted to determine the differences in experiences among various demographic factors. At the end of this session, participants will be able to: 1. Acquire information about how the FEASD Scale and developed and validated 2. Identify the significant factors that impact family experiences between and among various racial and socio-economic groups 3. Attain information on how to use the research conducted in this study to impact change in quality of educational, health, and community care for families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
